Here are the answers to some of our most common questions, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Booking & Appointments
How do I book an appointment?
The easiest way is right here on our website using the online booking system! It allows you to see my availability and choose a time that suits you. If you have any specific questions before booking, feel free to get in touch via email or phone.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, all our services are by appointment only. This is to ensure that every dog receives my complete, undivided attention in a calm and peaceful environment, without the stress of other dogs or waiting in cages.
Why is a £15 deposit required to book?
As a small, local business that offers dedicated one-on-one appointment slots, a last-minute cancellation or no-show means that another dog misses out on their chance for a pamper session. The £15 deposit simply secures your exclusive time with me and will be deducted from the final cost of the groom.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me at least 48 hours' notice. For any changes made with more than 48 hours' notice, your £15 deposit can be fully refunded or transferred to your new appointment. For cancellations within 48 hours or for no-shows, the deposit is non-refundable.
About the Groom
How much will it cost to groom my dog?
The cost depends on your dog's size, breed, coat condition, and the service you choose. You can find detailed guide prices on my "Grooming Packages" page. I will confirm the final price with you at drop-off once I've had a chance to meet your lovely pup.
How long will my dog's groom take?
This depends on the size, coat, and service, but a full groom typically takes between 2 to 3 hours. Because it's a dedicated one-on-one session, your dog is groomed straight through without long waits. I will give you a more accurate collection time when you drop them off.
How often should my dog be groomed?
This really depends on your dog's breed, coat, and lifestyle! On average, long-haired breeds benefit from a full groom every 6-8 weeks to prevent matting. For other coats, we can create a schedule that works for you. I'll be happy to give you a personalised recommendation during your first visit.
What's included in a groom?
Our "Full Works" packages are head-to-paw experiences, always including a bath, blow-dry, brush-out, styling, nail trim, and ear clean. Our other packages have a detailed list of inclusions on the "Grooming Packages" page. I don't believe in hidden extras for the essentials!
Your Dog's Experience
I'm a new client. What should I expect on my first visit?
First of all, a very warm welcome! I'm so glad you've chosen me. When you arrive, we'll have a friendly chat to go over your New Client Form and discuss exactly what you'd like for your dog's groom. It’s a great chance for you to ask me anything and for me to get to know you and your pup. My priority is to make you both feel completely comfortable and confident in the care your dog will receive.
Can I stay with my dog during the groom?
To ensure your dog can fully relax and build a trusting bond with me, and for everyone's safety, I don't allow owners to stay during the groom. Dogs are often calmer and more focused when their owner isn't present. Please rest assured they are in very caring and capable hands, and I'll contact you the moment they're ready for collection.
My dog is very nervous. How do you handle that?
I specialise in creating a calm, stress-free environment, which is perfect for nervous dogs. The one-on-one setting means no other dogs, no loud chaos, and no rush. I use gentle techniques and positive reinforcement, working at your dog's pace to build their trust and confidence in the grooming process.
Do you use drying cabinets?
Absolutely not. Every dog is carefully and gently dried by hand. This is much safer and more pleasant for your pup, and it allows me to check their skin and coat thoroughly as I work.
Health & Safety
What if my dog is aggressive?
Your dog's safety and my own are my top priorities. Please be upfront about any history of aggression or biting when you book. I am experienced in handling anxious dogs, but if a dog becomes truly aggressive to the point where it is unsafe to continue, I will not force the groom. A fee for the time and work completed may still apply.
Can my dog be groomed if she is pregnant or in season?
For the safety and comfort of a pregnant dog, and to avoid any unnecessary stress, I do not groom dogs during pregnancy. Similarly, for hygiene reasons and to maintain a calm environment for all, I cannot groom dogs while they are in season. Please get in touch to reschedule if this is the case.
What if I'm not happy with the groom?
I take immense pride in my work and want you and your dog to be delighted. If for any reason you're not completely happy with the groom, please let me know within 24 hours so I have the opportunity to understand your concerns and put it right for you.
